PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBIT:  Contra el Olvido

The Exhibition Contra el Olvido will be presented at the Tertulia Museum in Cali, Colombia beginning February 9, 2005.

Contributing artists will include Jesus Abad Colorado, Yesdid Campos, Juan Manuel Echavarria, Gabriel Ossa, Felipe Paz and Fundacion Dos Mundos.

The aim of the works featured in this exhibit is to put a face on the conflict that has plagued Colombian society and to raise awareness and provoke a reaction, as opposed to indifference; aside from the facts and figures that provide statistical information of the many victims, the intent is to create a visual record of the reality of the situation, and as such requires immediate action and attention in order to assure the well-being of the communities that have been the most affected by the internal conflict plaguing the country.

It is important to create a record that will make an imprint on our emotional psyches, and propel us to never forget, to continue to strive for peace in Colombia, and to never let history repeat itself.
